When can I start my outdoor movie?
For an outdoor projector screen event, you are going to want to start your movie once it’s dark. Otherwise, the display will look flushed out and difficult to see; the sun is much brighter than even the most powerful projector. We recommend starting your movie about 10-15 minutes after sunset, depending on where you are in relation to the equator. If you want to keep the audience engaged before the movie starts, trivia, slides, interactive advertisements, or karaoke with high-contrast imaging on the screen are great things to put on before the movie. For summer parties when the sun sets later, keep in mind the estimated time the movie will end and be aware of local noise ordinances. If you need to show your movie earlier, consider watching an animated film with bright colors and a short runtime.
